Description

Following extensive research and development, Rootlab has transitioned away from traditional sawdust spawn to a proprietary substrate blend. This custom formulation combines coco coir, vermiculite, straw, gypsum, manure, compost, and leaf litter, which is fully sterilised before being inoculated with wine cap spawn under sterile laboratory conditions.

Our spawn is specifically produced

These are spawn bags and not fruiting kits, spawn bags are prepared very differently and is not ideal to fruit from the bag.

Upon arrival, remove the bag from the box and unfold it to ensure the white filter patch is fully exposed, as this is where the mycelium breathes. Allow the bag to rest for 3–5 days in a location away from direct sunlight and airflow.

Use our Sawdust spawn for outdoor garden beds, it provides up to 1000 times more inoculation points than grain spawn, promising even and swifter colonisation in the long run.
